The Old Halesonian Lodge Of Instruction Festival

In December 2005 the Provincial Grand Master, The Right Worshipful Richard George Hamilton Goddard indicated his intention to attend the Old Halesonian Lodge of Instruction Festival. In doing so he unwittingly set in motion the birth of the Old Halesonian Presentation Team. After much discussion on how to entertain the P.G.M., it was decided to present the ceremony of Initiation, in documentary form, using an ancient form of ritual, dating back to the year 1756.

This first presentation proved to be a marvellous success and it encouraged the team to extend their programme to include the ceremonies of Passing and Raising.

Since that first presentation, the P.G.M. has attended all four of our Festivals and his continued support means a great deal to the members of the Lodge and pushes them to strive for more success and set higher and higher standards.

In 2006 the team were invited to Kings Heath where they presented the Ceremony of Initiation to the Robin Hood Lodge. In 2007 the same ceremony was presented to the Old Edwardian Lodge in Stourbridge and to the Lodge of Perseverance in Halesowen.

This form of re-enacting the Ritual of Freemasonry has proved to be an excellent aid in understanding the origins of the Craft. Of understanding the meaning of the Ritual that we use to-day, and has been instrumental in holding the interest of the Brethren at our normal LOI meetings.
